Mike Bordick

Orioles Hall of Famer Mike Bordick has been heavily involved with the League of Dreams since the nonprofit’s inception in 2003. Serving as chair of the board of directors, Mike is deeply committed to the League of Dreams.
Mike played for the Orioles from 1997 to 2002. One of the best defensive players in club history, he led AL shortstops with a .989 fielding percentage and 797 total chances in 1999 with the Orioles, a year in which he also led the AL in batting average against left-handed pitching (.406). He batted .260 with 1,500 hits in his career, including a .260 average (674-for-2592) in 739 games with the Orioles.
Bordick’s 14-year major league career also included time with the Oakland Athletics, New York Mets, and Toronto Blue Jays. Before signing with the Orioles he played three years at the University of Maine, where he led the Bears to College World Series berths in 1984 and 1986. At the end of his playing career, he completed his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and physical education from the University of Maine.
Mike is convinced every child and or adult should have a chance to be a ‘player’ and supports League of Dreams as a board member, donor and volunteer. He is in his first three-year term as Chairman of the Board. He and his wife, Monica, reside in Ruxton, Md. with their six children.
