League of Dreams Wins $25,000 Thanks to Your Votes.
Thanks to the active participation of our supporters in the STATE FARM NEIGHBORHOOD ASSIST PROGRAM®, the League of Dreams is being awarded $25,000! After submitting a grant and being selected as a State Farm Neighborhood Assist® Top 200 Finalist out of 4,000 nationwide submissions, the League of Dreams then went on to compete in an online, voting competition from April 27- May 6. The top 100 nonprofits – the League of Dreams being one of them– that received the most daily votes will each be awarded the generous amount of $25,000.
The outpouring of support, viral promotion, and voting were spectacular. This is a major victory that could not have been achieved without the dedication of our League of Dreams community who rallied behind us in this competition. A special check presentation will take place in September (date to be determined) to officially recognize the League of Dreams for this distinct honor. Stay tuned.

When Mike Bordick gets recognized, a small part of him isn’t surprised. He spent 14 years in the major leagues, six of those as an Oriole en route to making the franchise’s hall of fame. He followed that with a lengthy stint as a broadcaster for the team’s Mid-Atlantic Sports Network.
